Yes you have a new house and yes you’re very much excited about moving in. That’s quite understandable, especially if you have been living in some almost inhabitable environment. But before you actually move in and arrange your things, you might want to call the neighbourhood electricians and ask them to install new lighting fixtures into your new home and make sure that all your electric wirings are properly set up. You don’t want to have fire so soon in your new home. On the other hand, maybe you’d like to stop getting excited first and think about what you really want for each of your rooms at home, particularly the illumination aspect. The lighting will not only serve its purposed but will also give the rooms the atmosphere they need to emit to make them live up to their names and functions.
- The Lounge Area. If you want relax but not sleep and you want to just cool off, then you may want to stay in your lounge area, or your den perhaps. The lounge or den can serve as an entertainment room as well, thus you may want to use lighting that will hell help achieve that relaxing mood. The best lighting for this room is natural lighting combined with adjustable LED lights that can be deemed if you’re watching some movie. Or if this seems too expensive, then you can use tall room lamps that can be rearranged to get some soft glow effect.
- Cook’s corner. This is of course your kitchen. Because you would be cooking here and you would be dealing with sharp edges and silver, then it’s best to have a really good illumination in this area. To get that best illumination, overhead lights are a must. Low lights will give off dimness possibly causing you to make cooking accidents because you can’t see well in such illumination.
- Sleeping room. To choose the perfect lighting for your bedroom, it might be useful to first consider your dominant room colour and whether you are the sole occupier of the room or you share it with someone else. What is important to note though is the fact that the room should be accentuated with lighting that can induce one to have a good night sleep. Average brightness wall lights and bedside table lamps may do well to create that sleep inducing atmosphere. If you like and if you have younger people at home,, you can have night lamps or lava torch lights that can remain turned on while you or they sleep. Such things won’t be too bright to make it difficult to sleep, but not too dark to render you or them visibility problems when you or they wake up in the middle of the night.
- Your vanity and hygiene room. This refers to the bathroom, and it only serves one purpose, to enable you to clearly see yourself while doing your hygiene stuff. The lighting needed for the bathroom then should be bright but not too strong that you would need to often blink to keep the light from your eye. A bathroom mirror though can be an additional plus to illuminating yourself while taking a bath.
